Workshop on Principles of the Stone Industry at the National Museum
In cooperation with King Saud University, the National Museum in Riyadh presented a seminar and workshop titled "Principles of Stone Industry". It was given by Prof. Abdul Razzaq bin Rashid Al Ma'amari – a specialist in Stone Age Antiquities at King Saud University, on Thursday, 16/3/2017. The seminar and workshop were held at Unification Gallery of the National Museum. At the beginning of the seminar, Dr. Dulayel Mutlaq AlQahatani, Head of the Gallery Division, welcomed the lecturer and attendees. She emphasized the cultural and educational role of the museum. At the beginning of the seminar, the professor spoke of stone nuclei, explaining the technical processes of fission. He pointed out the basics of stone age techniques and scientific evidence on manmade stones. Towards the end of the seminar, he touched on basic nuclei fission techniques used since through to the Iron Age. He then went on to answer inquiries asked by attendees. The seminar was followed by a workshop, and in attendance were people from the general public as well as postgraduate students of King Saud University. At the end of the workshop, the museum presented the professor with a souvenir.
